Cpl. Jordan Freking (right), a Marine Air-Ground Task Force Planner with Marine Aircraft Group 14, receives the Cherry Point Athlete of the Year award from Col. Philip Zimmerman, commanding officer of Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, June 29. The 22-year-old, Le Mars, Iowa native, finished in the top 400 in the Marine Corps Marathon in 2010, has maintained a high Marine Corps physical fitness test and ran in more than 40 races in 2011 alone.
