The Rainbow Haggadah was created by Chaplain Eli Bohnen and his assistant Eli Heimberg for the 42nd Infantry Division Passover seder in Dahn, Germany March 28, 1945, over a month before German surrender. The division haggadah is believed to be the first Jewish ritual printing in Germany since the rise of the Nazis to power in 1933.
