A COVID-19 Responders Awareness event is being held at a DILG (Department of the Interior and Local Government) facility in the Philippines. Two individuals are on a raised stage: one speaking at a microphone and another wearing full PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including a white hazmat suit, mask, hood, and blue shoe covers. The event appears to be a demonstration or briefing on proper COVID-19 response protocols.

Dr. Irvin Miranda, medical officer, explains how to properly wear personal protection equipment while working in the fight against COVID-19, March 5, 2020, for the Philippines Department of Health at the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Camp General Emilio Aguinadlo, Quezon City. Miranda is serving as the liaison between the health department and other agencies to protect the citizens of the Philippines from the scourge of COVID-19. Miranda attended CFE-DM’s two-week H.E.L.P. workshop, in 2018, conducted in partnership with the International Committee of the Red Cross and University of Hawaii’s Office of Public Health Study where he participated in discussions and practical exercises with top medical and public health professionals, from the military and civilian sector, to understand the latest trends in preparedness and response to epidemics and health emergencies.
