A military or tactical operator is photographed in near-total darkness, illuminated by a red light source. The individual is wearing a modern tactical helmet equipped with night vision goggle (NVG) mounts and what appears to be a deployed NVG device over the face. The red lighting is consistent with night operations protocol, as red light preserves night vision adaptation.

An Airman assigned to the 386th Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron explosive ordnance disposal flight monitors his surroundings while wearing protective equipment at Ali Al Salem Air Base, Kuwait, March 19, 2020. Throughout the Multifunction Airman Training, Airmen from both squadrons worked together on a Red versus Blue teaming concept constructed by members of the local EOD staff. They were able to reinforce the skills necessary to deploy to any environment, at any time, and with the expectation of supporting US or Coalition general or Special Forces requiring an EOD capability.
