Building 1, or base headquarters, serves as the central place of authority for Marine Corps Installations East - Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. The building houses the commanding general's office along with the base sergeant major, and is also is full of Marine Corps history from when Camp Lejeune was established in the 1940's.
