Chauncey Ikaika Akau, a native of Waimānalo, Hawaii, with 2nd Squadron, 6th Cavalry Regiment, 25th Combat Aviation Brigade, stationed at Wheeler Army Airfield, Hawaii, conducts routine maintenance between missions during Exercise Cobra Gold 2020 on Camp Akathotsarot, Phitsanulok Province, Kingdom of Thailand, Feb. 26, 2020. Exercise Cobra Gold, in its 39th iteration, is designed to advance regional security and ensure effective responses to regional crises by bringing together a robust multinational force addressing shared goals and security commitments in the Indo-Pacific. Exercise Cobra Gold is the largest Theater Security Cooperation exercise in the Indo-Pacific and is an integral part of the U.S. Commitment to strengthen engagement in the region.
