Capt. Gonzalo Smith, a Series Commander with Medical Rehabilitation Platoon (MRP), Special Training Company, leads recruits with MRP 1 and MRP 2, through a training scenario at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, San Diego, Feb. 18, 2020. prior to conducting the scenario, Smith introduced MRP recruits to the basics of strategic manuevering while in a combat environment, and did so by referring to tactics used in previous amphibious landings including the battle of Iwo Jima.
