Korean destroyer ROKS Sejong the Great (DDG 991) moves into formation with USS Shiloh (CG 67) for a photo exercise with USS George Washington (CVN 73) and other ships from the George Washington Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5, the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, and Republic of Korea Navy during a trilateral. The exercise included integrated helicopters operations, visit, board, search and seizure exchanges and demonstration, communication links, interoperability, dynamic ship maneuvers and liaison officer exchanges. The trilateral events improve interoperability, readiness and the capability to respond quickly to various situations in the region, ranging from disaster relief to maritime security activities.
