A person in military camouflage uniform is pouring red liquid from an ornate black and gold decanter into a clear plastic cup on a black tablecloth. The setting appears to be a Jewish Passover Seder ceremony, evidenced by the Haggadah booklets, olives, and other traditional Seder items on the table. This appears to be a military-hosted religious observance event.

PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Feb. 10, 2020) Naval Medical Center Portsmouth (NMCP) staff members participate in ceremonial wine drinking. The spirit of the occasion includes drinking white wine at the beginning of the Seder and red wine at the end. NMCP hosted the Jewish New Year of the Trees, or Tu B’Shvat, service on Feb. 10. Tu B’Shvat is considered a festival of nature, full of wonder, joy, and thankfulness for creation in anticipation of the renewal of the natural world. During this holiday, Jews recollect the sacred obligation to care for the world, and the responsibility to share the fruits of the earth. (U.S Navy photo by Seaman Imani N. Daniels/Released)
