200201-N-MA259-1008 SASEBO, Japan (Feb. 1 2020) U.S. Navy Seabees with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo discuss the assembling process for reinforcing steel for the footers and pedestals with Cmdr. Ryan Carey, commanding officer, NMCB-5. The footers and pedestals are part of the pre-engineered buildings the Seabees are constructing for Naval Beach Unit 7 to provide them a place to store and maintain their equipment. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
