Lt. Col. Gary Calese, commander, 94th Engineer Battalion, 4th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, stands with Sgt. 1st Class Jeffrey Duncan, Nashville, Tenn., native, chaplain’s assistance, Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th MEB, 1ID, and Private 1st Class Jonathan Cruz, native of Honolulu, Hawaii, veterinary technician, HHC, 94th Engineer Battalion, both competed in combatives for Victory Week here, June 10-14. Duncan and Cruz both earned first place in their respective weight classes thus being a big part of 4th MEB winning the overall combatives competition.
