ARABIAN SEA (Feb. 4, 2020) Fire Controlman (Aegis) 3rd Class Jeremy Henson, from Sapulpa, Oklahoma, takes a written examination as part of earning the enlisted surface warfare specialist certification on the mess deck aboard the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Normandy (CG 60). Normandy is part of the Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group and is deployed to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
