Two U.S. Army soldiers in Operational Camouflage Pattern (OCP) uniforms are reviewing a document together in what appears to be an indoor facility. The soldier on the right, identified by his name tape as 'KANISH,' is pointing at the document while both men examine it. The setting appears to be an administrative or office-like environment.

Col. Dane Rodgers and Maj. Paul Kanish, Wyoming Army National Guard work through the "Lights Out" exercise in the Joint Operations Center (JOC), Joint Forces Readiness Center, Cheyenne, Wyo., Feb. 6, 2020.

The exercise focused on working through a large-scale blackout caused by a winter storm. The JOC team worked through the scenario where they encountered stranded motorists and loss of livestock at local ranches. This exercise allowed members to practice working with the Civil Air Patrol and Department of Transportation, just to name a couple.

Participants learned how to respond quickly and work together. This type of preparedness continues to build partnerships in our region. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Master Sgt. Jacqueline Marshall)
