Maj. Gen. John M. Croley (right), commander U.S. Marine Corps Forces, South, and Barbados Defense Force Chief of Staff Col. Alvin Quintyne recognize the opening of a small-craft pier during a ribbon cutting ceremony here June 19. The U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command completed the pier in May in preparation for Exercise Tradewinds 2012.The pier will also provide the Barbados Coast Guard a permanent platform to launch quick response vessels for maritime interdiction operations.
