The 143d Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) headquarters had a special visit from retired Brig. Gen. Joseph Joyce on Jan. 29, 2020 in Orlando, Fla. Retired Brig. Gen. Joyce presented Col. Richard Williams, 143d ESC chief of staff, with four Transportation Corps commemorative prints to include the "The Cargo Gets Through" from the Vietnam War and the "Lifeline to the Front Line" from World War II. Retired Brig. Gen. Joyce served in various positions throughout what was previously known as the 143d Transportation Command. From 1985 as a Terminal Plans Officer in Orlando, Fla. to 1998 as the Commander of the 1186th Transportation Terminal Brigade in Jacksonville, Fla. The history of the 143d ESC, like many Army units, is rich but often forgotten. It is through these days when artifacts of history can bring generations of Soldiers together to appreciate the sacrifice and selfless service of the many men and women who served before them.
