The image shows the Dudley Memorial Building at North Carolina A&T State University, with a prominent bronze statue in the foreground commemorating the February One Sit-In Movement. The statue depicts four figures standing together on a pedestal inscribed with 'FEBRUARY ONE,' honoring the four A&T freshmen who initiated the 1960 Greensboro lunch counter sit-ins. A banner on the building reads 'February 1 Anniversary of Sit-In Movement,' suggesting this photo was taken during a commemorative event.

Carl Brashear’s life story about overcoming physical and racial adversity was featured in the Hollywood film “Men of Honor” starring Cuba Gooding Jr. and Robert De Niro. Phillip Brashear has more than 38 years of military service between the U.S. Navy Reserve, the U.S. Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve. He spent the majority of his Army career as a helicopter pilot with deployments to Bosnia and Iraq. (U.S. Army Reserve photo by Master Sgt. Michel Sauret)
