Albuquerque, N.M. -- Katie McVey, deputy refuge manager, Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge, briefs R.D James, assistant secretary of the Army for civil works, during his visit to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers-Albuquerque District Jan. 22. The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation is working in partnership with U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to establish functional wetlands for Clean Water Act, Sec. 404 compensatory mitigation, to offset adverse impacts from Reclamation projects at Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge.
