200126-N-TJ564-0083 AUSTIN, Texas (Jan. 26, 2020) U.S. Army Pfc. Daniel Schantin, assigned to 546th Area Support Medical Company places a neck brace on a role player in a simulated mass casualty decontamination medical triage tent at Travis County Exposition Center as part of Exercise Sudden Response 20. Military units comprising the Defense Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (CBRN) Response Force (DCRF) are participating in the exercise, which is taking place in Killeen, Austin and Ft. Hood, Texas, from Jan. 24-29. As part of the exercise, teams are rehearsing force and equipment employment, life-saving operations and web-based command and control collaborative tools to ensure their ability to execute Defense Support of Civil Authority (DSCA) missions. The DCRF is comprised of approximately 5,000 personnel from military units located throughout the nation who come together to help fellow Americans in the event of a CBRN disaster response.
