Marine Cpl. Jared Charpentier spends some much-needed down time with his partner Gracie, a black Labrador Retriever, after looking for hidden bombs and explosive materials with the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment in Sangin, Afghanistan. Here, Gracie waits for Charpentier to give her the hand signal so that she may start searching. Though she sits, she is very alert, and ready for the slightest movement signaling action from Charpentier.
