    SANTA RITA, Guam (Jan. 17, 2020) Rear Adm. Bruce Gillingham, Surgeon General of the Navy, addresses Cmdr. Steven Lawrence, commanding officer of the Los Angeles-class fast attack submarine USS Oklahoma City (SSN 723), Cmdr. Denver Applehans, public affairs officer for U.S. Navy Bureau of Medicine and Surgery, and Capt. James Mucciarone, force medical officer for Commander, Submarine Force, U.S. Pacific Fleet, in the wardroom during a visit aboard Oklahoma City. The purpose of the visit was to discuss Gillingham’s priorities for the medical community and how they relate to maritime superiority and fleet-wide medical readiness.
