200113-N-JO908-1018 MANAMA, Bahrain (Jan. 13, 2020) Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Johnathan Starks, assigned to CTG 56.11, mans a .50 caliber machine gun aboard a combat littoral simulator during embark security team (EST) training at Naval Support Activity Bahrain. The simulator allows ESTs to train in a controlled, digital environment using various shoot/no-shoot scenarios involving sea, land, and air assets. CTG-56.11 conducts maritime security operations to ensure freedom of movement for strategic shipping and naval vessels operating throughout the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
