This memorial honors Sgt. Gene Lamie who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq on July 6, 2007. His parents, Linda and Eugene Lamie, began decorating his tree along with the trees of other fallen soldiers. Linda Lamie said they would come before the ceremony to decorate their child’s tree, but then, they felt the need to decorate the other trees as well. (US Army photo by Spc William Griffen)
