200106-N-WA745-1047 POHNPEI, Federated States of Micronesia (Jan. 6, 2020) Steelworker 3rd Class Roslyn Ruiz (right) and Steelworker Constructionman Shanty May, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Pohnpei, prep guard rails prior to painting them at Pehleng Elementary school. U.S. Navy Seabees are renovating four of the buildings on the campus to give the students a clean and safe environment to continue their education. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
