Ordnance experts detonate an 81mm shell in place in 2010 on Camp Butner, North Carolina, as part of a Formerly Used Defense Sites program cleanup of the former Department of Defense installation. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Savannah District, oversees the FUDS program in the southeastern United States. The program encompasses more than 1,100 sites.
