Maj. Gwendolyn Hoogendoorn, a member of the Ohio National Guard and a volunteer at the Ohio Wildlife Center, shows off an Ohio Fox Snake (also called an Eastern Fox Snake) at a fundraising dinner for the OWC at the Columbus Zoo in Powell, Ohio. Hoogendoorn has worked with the OWC for more than 20 years. “Give back!” Hoogendoorn urges all service members. “No paycheck or material thing will ever be as gratifying as making a difference in the life of someone.
