Brig. Gen. Joane Mathews, Wisconsin's deputy adjutant general for Army, welcomes Soldiers from the 2nd Battalion, 127th Infantry Regiment back to Wisconsin Nov. 29 during a homecoming ceremony at Volk Field. The battalion conducted a "guardian angel" mission, providing force protection for countless engagements between Army advisors and other coalition forces, contractors and Afghan troops to prevent insider attacks.
