The image shows a large white tethered aerostat (surveillance balloon) marked with the number '4233' on its tail fin, photographed from a low angle against a clear blue sky. The aerostat is connected to a ground mooring station via tether cables and is positioned near what appears to be a radar dish and support infrastructure. The setting appears to be a desert or arid environment, consistent with a military or border surveillance installation.

The 84th Radar Evaluation Squadron (RADES) recently conducted an analysis and optimization of the Tethered Aerostat Radar System (TARS) in support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at Fort Huachuca, Arizona November 13, 2019. The aerostat-borne surveillance system provides radar detection and monitoring of low-altitude aircraft and surface vessels along the U.S.-Mexico border and select Caribbean areas.
