The Taji Airbase commander requested 370th Air Expeditionary Advisory Squadron air advisors to assess the refueling trucks that have been non-mission capable for more than 24 months. In conjunction with petroleum, oil and lubricants soldiers from Echo Company 5-195th General Support Aviation Battalion, they assessed multiple Iraqi Army Aviation Command helicopter refueling trucks on Oct. 22, 2019 at Camp Taji, Iraq. The advisors identified hairline cracks and fuel filter issues and are pursuing fixes that utilize available IqAAC facilities and manpower. The Taji Airbase commander’s intent for the repaired vehicles is to provide a Forward Arming and Refueling Point in Mosul, Iraq to shorten refuel and rearm transit times for rotary assets and provide greater time on station for defeat-Daesh operations in northern Iraq.
