    3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division

    1st Lt. Chanel Menges, a paratrooper assigned to 5th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division overcame Adenoid Carcinoma, a rare form of cancer affecting glandular tissue, to deploy with her unit to Afghanistan in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel.
