191125-N-ZW591-1009 SASEBO, Japan (Nov. 25, 2019) Builder 3rd Class Lawrence Spears, from Houston, deployed with Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) 5’s Detail Sasebo, smooths a small layer of concrete along the face of the seawall repair project on board Commander Fleet Activities Sasebo to further improve the base’s military readiness and capability. NMCB-5 is deployed across the Indo-Pacific region conducting high-quality construction to support U.S. and partner nations to strengthen partnerships, deter aggression, and enable expeditionary logistics and naval power projection.
