The Navy Surgeon General dispatched a special psychiatric rapid intervention team (SPRINT) from Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia Dec. 9, 2019 to assist the Emergency Family Assistance Center (EFAC) in providing counseling to the men and women affect by the active shooter incident onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola Dec. 6, 2019. EFAC includes representatives from the American Red Cross, FBI Victim Services, the Navy Wounded Warrior Program, and other agencies who have resources for non-DOD beneficiaries.
