191110-N-MD802-1123 GULF OF OMAN (Nov. 10, 2019) The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) transits the Gulf of Oman at night during a lightning storm. Farragut is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
