ATLANTIC OCEAN (Dec. 4, 2019) - Sailors assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Carney (DDG 64) receive a briefing about an upcoming helicopter crash exercise from Warrant Officer class 1 (Aircraft Handler) Nicholas Broughton, from Cornwall, England, as part of the U.K.-led Flag Officer Sea Training (FOST), Dec. 4, 2019. FOST’s training is designed to prepare all types of navy vessels and auxiliaries for peacetime, peace-support, and war-fighting operations. Carney, forward-deployed to Rota, Spain, is on its seventh patrol in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of regional allies and partners as well as U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
