International Technology Centers started as interoperability offices. In Germany, this meant building collaboration agreements to support development of a main battle tank. The MBT70, above, is the common ancestor of the M1 Abrams and the Leopard tanks, which share common components, such as the L44/M256 120 mm smoothbore cannon. (Images courtesy of the author)
