Lt. Col. Hanson is carrying the shoes he wore while running the Revel Mt. Lemmon marathon in Tucson, Ariz., on Nov. 02, 2019, and he is wearing the medal he earned upon completing the 26.2 mile race.
The race was the culmination of Lt. Col. Hanson's year long journey of running 1,000 miles in a year.
