191029-N-MD802-1012 RED SEA (Oct. 29, 2019) The guided-missile destroyer USS Farragut (DDG 99) escorts U.S. flagged merchant vessel Mohawk through the Straits of Bab al-Mandeb. Farragut is part of the East Coast Surface Action Group and is operating in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the Western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
