    The flight deck crew aboard the guided missile frigate USS Underwood (FFG 36) prepare for the arrival of a Mexican BO105 Eurocopter helicopter during Unitas Pacific while under way in the Pacific Ocean May 21, 2012. Underwood was representing the U.S. Navy during Unitas PAC and was deployed to Central and South America and the Caribbean in support of Southern Seas 2012. Unitas, Latin for "unity," is an annual U.S. Southern Command-sponsored, multinational naval exercise designed to enhance security cooperation and improve coalition operations between South American and U.S. maritime forces. Southern Seas is a U.S. Southern Command-directed operation designed to strengthen relationships with regional partner nations and improve operational readiness for all assigned units.
