Members of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Buffalo District and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources check out at the original Presque Isle road, which was first placed in 1924, during the USACE’s and DCNR’s bi-annual beach walk October 29, 2019 at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, Pennsylvania. The erosion from the high lake water levels caused the original road to become visible. The purpose of the walk was to check on the effectiveness of the 2019 Beach Nourishment Project and to set a baseline for the 2020 Beach Nourishment.
