Matt Clugston (left), federal healthcare program manager with Walsh Construction, and U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Sean Connors, 673d Surgical Operations Squadron MRI technologist, cut the ribbon at a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new MRI suite in the Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson hospital on JBER, Alaska, Oct. 28, 2019. The MRI area remodel included the creation of one joint control room, rather than the former two control rooms in separate areas; an upgraded 1.5 Tesla GE scanner; and newer patient amenities such as dressing rooms, a reception desk, a waiting area, and murals and lighting in the scanner rooms for patient comfort.
