191025-N-XX082-0006 SAN DIEGO (Oct. 25, 2019) Information Systems 1st Class Gene Franklin carries a bucket full of water between stations during the damage control olympics at Information Warfare Training Command San Diego’s Fall Festival. As a method of promoting esprit de corps, as well as ensuring the staff’s shipboard skills stay sharp, the command incorporated a damage control olympics competition into the festival which challenged participants to patch pipes, throw mooring lines, sprint between stations and more. The Fall Festival is a key event in bringing Sailors together, and helps the MWR program raise funds for future command events.
