John Shipley, long-time friend, mentor and former colleague of Geoff Downer, spoke at Downer’s Oct. 18 Senior Executive Service appointment ceremony at Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia. Shipley retired after serving as director of the Aviation Integration Directorate, a component under the Special Programs (Aviation), from 1991 to January 2019, and was inducted into the Army Materiel Command Hall of Fame last year.
