The Texas National Guard Counterdrug Task Force partnered with the Drug Enforcement Administration to fly a LUH-72 Lakota helicopter to Austin-area schools to promote Red Ribbon week educating students on drug prevention and awareness. The four schools in Austin, Round Rock, Thrall and Taylor celebrated as they listened to a anti-drug motivational speech from a DEA special agent, take a pledge to be drug free, and take a photo in front of the National Guard helicopter. Red Ribbon week began to bring awareness to drug abuse after DEA special Agent Enrique Camarena was killed by cartels in the 1980s. (Texas National Guard Joint Counterdrug Task Force Public Affairs)
