Crane Army Ammunition Activity employee Adam Hayes replaces the gas absorbing material on the red smoke mortar. The Department of Defense selected Crane Army to provide the Marines with a renewed stock of mortars after they lost 75 percent of their total mortar stock. CAAA quickly developed a plan to set up production lines and increase munitions readiness within two weeks.
