A show of support and thanks...Sailors representing Naval Hospital Bremerton's Junior Enlisted Association and Sailors Against Sexual Harassment and Assault (S.A.S.H.A.) were recognized for their combined community relation effort in helping their community by Senior Chief Logistics Specialist Eric Sinks Oct. 18, 2019. The Sailors - over 70 volunteers - contributed 259 hours to weed and beautify the City of Bremerton Lions Park, Sept. 21, 2019. There was additional energy put forth by the food team from their five hour cook-off the night before the actual clean-up event, followed by the huge spread of made-from-scratch food prepared for the clean-up crew that Saturday morning. Of particular note, the following Sailors went above and beyond, leading teams and working well before and after the event to make it the huge success that it was; Hospital Corpsman 2nd Class Blake Chastain, HM2 Erin Shellymoody, Hospitalman Apprentice Jackson Brooks, Hospitalman Monique Clark, HN Haley Higginson, HN William Howard HN Susan Orozco, and HN Brendan Takamori. Bremerton City Council (District 1) member Pat Sullivan expressed her deepest gratitude for the efforts of the volunteer team on behalf of the city of Bremerton. Well done to all!
