Pvt. 1st Class Eric Vasser, Jr., with 4th Battalion, 39th Infantry Regiment, holds up the pants he was wearing the night he was stabbed by his first wife. Vasser told his story of domestic violence during the 2019 Candlelight Vigil for Domestic Violence Awareness Oct. 9 at the Main Post Chapel. Vasser was stabbed in the leg and abdomen and required two surgeries to repair the damages the stabbing caused. He spoke about the event in hopes to help end the stigma of men speaking out about abuse and to ask others to be vigilant about abuse warning signs and to seek help for those experiencing abuse.
