Mrs. Rosalen Becker, Coast Guard Radioman 3rd Class and trailblazer for women's equality, celebrates her 100th birthday with service members from Coast Guard Sector New York, Oct. 13, 2019. At the height of World War II, Rosalen volunteered for Semper Paratus Always Ready, better known as SPARS, the United States Coast Guard Women’s Reserve, where she specialized in communications technology and the upkeep of radio equipment.
