191009-M-EC058-1499 SOUTH CHINA SEA (Oct. 9, 2019) A CH-53E Super Stallion with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron (VMM) 163 (Reinforced), 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), externally drops an AV-8B Harrier Rolls-Royce Pegasus engine during a vertical replenishment-at-sea aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Boxer (LHD 4). The Marines and Sailors of the 11th MEU are deployed to the 7th Fleet area of operations to support regional stability, reassure partners, and allies, and maintain a presence postured to respond to any crisis ranging from humanitarian assistance to contingency operations.
