SAN FRANCISCO (Oct. 7, 2019) Gunner's Mate Seaman Apprentice Nathan Taylor (left), a native of Columbus, Ohio, and Electronics Technician Second Class David Ethington, a native of Lawrence, Kansas, both assigned to San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock USS Somerset (LPD 25), pull mooring lines from Independence-class littoral combat ship USS Charleston (LCS 18) as it pulls into port for San Francisco Fleet Week (SFFW). SFFW is an opportunity for the American public to meet their Navy, Marine Corps and Coast Guard teams and experience America’s sea services. During fleet week, service members participate in various community service events, showcase capabilities and equipment to the community, and enjoy the hospitality of San Francisco and its surrounding areas.
