Spc. Charles Lemon, previously assigned to C Troop "Maddog," 3rd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, was presented the Purple Heart award by Brig. Gen. Joseph DiSalvo May 14 at the 3rd CR Memorial, for injuries he sustained during a combat mission in June 2011. Lemon, who lost both his legs, was able to stand for the ceremony with the use of prosthetic legs.
