Col. Daniel Shank (left), Ohio assistant adjutant general for Army, and Burt Logan, executive director of the Ohio History Connection, unveil a historic marker Sept. 27, 2019, to memorialize the importance of the railroad to Camp Perry during a ceremony at the Camp Perry Joint Training Center near Port Clinton, Ohio. The Ohio Historical Marker program has championed Ohio’s history for over 60 years, with more than 1,700 markers erected all over Ohio by local community sponsors in partnership with the Ohio History Connection.
